The band discovered in Moscow in 1922. A hundred years ago there was an unexplored part of the spectrum between radio waves and infrared light. It was discovered by Alexandra Glagoleva-Arkadieva: in a Moscow magnetic laboratory she built an emitter based on metal filings in oil and obtained waves as short as 82 micrometers. In 1924 this work was published in Nature. Today medical imaging, spectroscopy and airport scanners operate in the same band.
Why it is not “just heat”. The frequency of terahertz radiation coincides with the vibration frequency of water molecules in tissues. That is why the main work happens in liquid media — blood, lymph, tissue fluid — and drinking plenty of hot clean water becomes a mandatory condition. How to use
0. Drink a glass of warm water, 45–55 degrees (slightly hot to the taste). 1. Warm up the body. Mode three, a few minutes of smooth top-to-bottom movements: first the back and legs, then the front. 2. Palms and feet. Both palms including the backs and wrists, then the soles and tops of both feet. 3. The main zone — half the time. Wherever needs your attention today. Both sides: if the left knee hurts, do both. All symmetrical organs and body parts follow the same principle. 4. Finishing. Two to three minutes of light general warming of the whole body. Then an hour or two without cold, drafts or showering. Immediately drink a glass of warm water, 45–55 degrees. Rest and meditation are very welcome. But getting straight back to work is comfortable too. Just keep your attention as long as possible on the state you reach during the practice. The device is in motion the whole time. Twenty minutes on one spot is the most common beginner's mistake.
What to keep in mind
Absolute contraindications: pacemaker, coronary stents, insulin pump, titanium joint implants, children under 12, body temperature above 38 °C, functional disorders of the respiratory system. Implant exceptions: dental implants after six months and an IUD after three months. Do not aim: at open eyes, at open wounds and weeping rashes, directly at a metal implant. Do not perform during bleeding or fibroids with bleeding, during menstruation, while intoxicated, or sooner than five hours after alcohol. Time: no more than an hour a day, a five-minute break every 15–20 minutes. Stop: pronounced weakness, dizziness, unusual pain, shortness of breath, rash, a spike in blood pressure — stop the procedure and seek help. In pregnancy, diabetes, severe neuropathy and reduced heat sensitivity, the decision is up to a doctor.
