Fohow Magic FoHerb bio-energy massager: four modes

Impulse, vacuum, heat and laser side by side: what each one does, when it is needed and where its limit is

Prepared by the WWC editorial team · verified October 10, 2026

In brief

  • Impulse is done by two people: one wears the gloves, the other lies down. On yourself — cups, gua sha and laser.
  • No oil with the device: it clogs the pump. Only the cream from the set.
  • One zone takes 10–15 minutes; start the impulse from the weakest level.
  • Pacemaker, metal in the body, pregnancy — not allowed; with severe varicose veins, don’t use it on the legs.

The Fohow bio-energy massager is the Magic FoHerb 3.0 from the WHIEDA catalog; in chats it is called the BEM Fohow. One housing combines impulse current through gloves, vacuum, heat and laser, and the main one is impulse: with it, the massage is done by hands.

The first question before a session is almost always the same: “Will it shake me?” The current strength is chosen according to the person lying down, and you start at the minimum.

Four modes

Fohow bio-energy massager: what each mode does

Mode 1 · key modeImpulse

What it does: alternating current flows through wet conductive gloves. The masseur works with their own palms, and the device amplifies every movement. The second output is electrode pads: they are placed on an acupuncture point.
When: back, neck and shoulders after a day at a desk or behind the wheel. In effect it is rubbing and acupressure by hand, amplified by current. In the official description and in training it is compared to acupuncture: the impulse is delivered to the same acupuncture points.
What the person on the couch feels: the current is felt under the masseur’s palms. The strength is chosen by their sensations: start at the weakest level and increase while it is comfortable. The first minutes feel unusual, then the body gets used to it — this is how the community’s masseurs describe the first sessions. The current does not hit the masseur: there is an insulating glove between their skin and the conductive one.
Who with whom: this is a two-person job. You can’t do your own back with the gloves.
Limit: pacemaker, insulin pump, metal in the body — see the contraindications list below.

Modes 2 and 3Vacuum and heating

What it does: the pump creates negative pressure in the attachment, the heater warms it. Place it on a point — that is cupping. Move it along a massage line — gua sha, scraping massage. Heating can also be switched on separately, as a warm massage with the attachment.
When: cupping — on points on the back and lower back, gua sha — along body lines. In cosmetology — contour and cellulite.
What the person feels: the skin is drawn into the attachment. With heat it is gentler, so vacuum is almost always switched on together with warmth.
Who with whom: on yourself — wherever your hand can reach. The back — two people.
Limit: with severe varicose veins, don’t use it on the legs. Red marks can appear; a strong mark is a reason to lower the level and the time.

Mode 4Laser

What it does: shines a low-intensity red laser on a single point. Two modes — continuous and blinking.
When: nose, ears, throat. In training it is called the “home ENT”.
What the person feels: no current, no pressure — only a red dot of light.
Who with whom: on yourself.
Limit: do not point it at the eyes.

“One BEM session — and lightness, the tension goes away,” — Dinara, Astana, a review on our reviews page.

How to use

How to use the Magic FoHerb massager: gloves, cream, level

Step 1Charge it

The device runs on a built-in battery. Charge it fully before the session, so that no mains cable trails toward wet skin during the massage.

Step 2Gloves in two layers

On each of the masseur’s hands — first a dry insulating glove, and the conductive one over it. The conductive glove is wetted entirely, together with the metal buttons: according to the instructions, the whole glove must conduct current. The insulating one is longer so that the conductive one does not touch the masseur’s skin.

Step 3Cream instead of oil

Only the massage cream from the set, which is water-based. The filter does not hold ordinary massage oil: it goes into the pump, rots inside, and the device fails.

Step 4Level from the minimum

Switch the impulse on at the weakest level and raise it with the “+” button while the person on the couch is comfortable. 10–15 minutes per zone. The face — only at the minimum mode and only after training.

Cupping

Heat at 4, vacuum at 4 or 5. Three to five minutes per point.

Gua sha

Heat at 4, vacuum at 2. Twenty passes along each massage line, the attachment always in motion. If the pull is strong, lower the level according to how it feels.

Step 5Energy cream

At the end, apply the energy cream in circular clockwise movements. In Nodar Gazneli’s course, cling film is placed on top.

Technique

Technique: palms, direction, pace

With impulse, technique matters more than power.

Palms

Flat, with the whole surface against the body. The gloves do not touch each other.

Direction

The back is worked from top to bottom: from the base of the neck to the sacrum, along the spine and along the two lines next to it. Finish with the arms — from the shoulders down to the fingertips.

Pace

Slowly and without stopping.

Where not to linger

Nowhere. The phone rings — let it ring.

Time

10–15 minutes per zone.

This is how Nodar Gazneli teaches in the BEM master class; the TCM explanation comes from him. The full course on the device, from the gloves to the cream, was recorded by Safura Yergaliyeva, and in the video “What massage therapists say about Magic FoHerb” masters talk about their own experience. It is better to do the first session with the gloves next to a mentor who already works with the device.

Who must not use it

Contraindications

The device passes current through the body, so there are many restrictions. If one of the lines applies to you — doctor first, then the device.

Metal and electronics

Pacemaker, insulin pump, any metal in the body. Two exceptions: an intrauterine device — three months after insertion; dental implants — six months after, and the face is left alone with them.

Heart and vessels

Thrombosis, the acute period of a stroke or heart attack, severe decompensation of the cardiovascular system.

Acute conditions

Acute infections with fever and any other acute condition.

Diagnoses

Oncological diseases, epilepsy, active tuberculosis.

For women

Pregnancy and the days of menstruation.

Blood and surgery

Any bleeding. After surgery — not earlier than six months later.

Children

Not allowed under 10 years.

Skin and veins

Infectious skin diseases. Do not work on the legs with severe varicose veins: the vacuum may cause a blood clot to break loose.

Alcohol

Under the influence of alcohol and for five hours afterwards.

After the session

Feeling unwell after a session means stop

In partner chats, chills, pain, swelling or a jump in blood pressure after BEM are called a “healing crisis” and a sign that the device is working. That is how almost any reaction is explained there. We will not repeat this.

Mild tiredness and sleepiness after a deep massage are understandable: the body was given work and needs rest. Pain, feeling unwell or a jump in blood pressure are a reason to stop the sessions and see a doctor. There is no need to make the next session stronger.

Verifiable basis

Doctors' opinions and documents

People search for doctors' opinions next to the device name almost as often as for contraindications. We looked for a published opinion by a doctor or a clinical trial of exactly this model. We found neither.

But the model does have an EAEU certificate of conformity KG 417/043.CN.02.00950. Magic FoHerb, model FH-FI-04, is classed in it as an electrical household appliance for body massage — in the document's wording, “without medical supervision”. This is the category of household appliance that people use at home on their own. The certificate contains no statement that a doctor is not needed. The model was tested against two technical regulations: safety of low-voltage equipment and electromagnetic compatibility. The certificate is valid until 27 November 2028.

The creams in the set are declared as cosmetics: massage cream and energy cream, both under the regulation on the safety of perfumery and cosmetic products.

Editorial view

Which mode is the main one

Magic FoHerb is worth buying for the pulse through the gloves. Heated vacuum cups and laser nose devices are also sold on their own. They do not have a massage where current passes through the palms of a second person.

If you don't plan to learn to work with the gloves, you are buying very good cups. If you do, you need a second person at home and training, and then the device works in full.

FAQ

Questions

Can I give myself a massage?

Cups, gua sha and laser — yes. The pulse through the gloves — no, a second person does it.

Are there doctors' opinions?

None published, and no clinical trials of the model either. There is an EAEU certificate for an electrical household appliance for body massage. If you have a diagnosis from the list of restrictions — see a doctor first.

Where can I learn to use the device?

On YouTube: Safura Yergaliyeva's course and Nodar Gazneli's master class. The first session with the gloves — next to a mentor.
